The Executive Council, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, convened during the Arabian Travel Market at the World Trade Centre to endorse a new traffic strategy focused on remote work. This initiative aims to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic flow on Dubai's roads.

Previously, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) conducted a comprehensive survey to assess residents' preferences regarding remote work and flexible hours. The survey aimed to analyze traffic patterns and anticipate the potential impacts of remote work setups.

The plan is essential to address traffic congestion, particularly during rush hours, by incorporating insights gathered from the survey responses of private sector employees. This data will inform the development of strategies tailored to improve traffic conditions, addressing a significant concern for numerous professionals in the city.

The plan is imperative to enhance employee productivity, business efficiency, and overall quality of life. Prolonged commutes on congested roads have adverse effects on employee health and well-being. By expanding remote working policies, the majority of motorists can opt to work from home or adjust their schedules, effectively addressing this pressing issue.

The RTA survey aims to boost participation by offering participants the chance to win prizes. Participation in the draw requires optional personal information like name, phone number, or email, which will be kept confidential for research purposes only.

Survey questions cover various aspects of work policies, including official working days, flexible start times, and existing remote working policies. Participants are also asked for feedback on additional work policies, such as compressed working schemes.

Other measures in the plan include enhancing priority public bus routes to reduce trip times by up to 59 percent and promoting the use of school transport to alleviate traffic congestion around schools by 13 percent.
