Their menu, however, takes on a more colourful approach giving the dishes a chance to shine against the simple background in some swoon-worthy Instagram clicks.

Transport to the city of Nawabs (ruling prince) or perhaps the happening hub of India, Mumbai. Bombay Bungalow takes you for a ride through the Indian sub-continent with its regional delicacies.

Stop by the South to try Dosas (savoury pancakes) or maybe the North for a quick taste of Chana (chickpeas), and Puri Bhaaji (flatbread with vegetables), the joint tops it all off with a cup of Karak Chai (strong tea).

And for those of us who believe that any meal is incomplete without entertainment, Bombay Bungalow is frequented by lovers of live entertainment on Wednesdays and Fridays for #BombayNights.

Besides the vocals that jazz up the eatery, the Indian restaurant included in the Michelin guide 2022 has antique interiors that pay homage to its country of origin. The bright space is inspired by the Bungalows of Bombay and is decked with statement pieces. While the food is lip-smacking, the vibe is reason enough to visit this joint.

Carrying the essence of grandma’s worldwide through their dishes, Brunch & Cake stems from the belief in offering only the best to its customers just as your grandma would do.

Founded in 2010, first as a coffee shop and then expanded into a brunch spot in 2012, the joint first came to Dubai in 2019 to ‘capture the hearts of people' in the Middle-east, just as it’d done in Barcelona.

As the name suggests, Brunch & Cake offers sweet treats for a sweet morning. Aside from making it the perfect spot for sweet tooths with its items such as Peaches & Cream Pancakes, the joint also houses a wide range of savoury dishes including but not limited to Eggs Carbonara, Breakfast Calzones, and Croque Madame.

Their variety of drinks also makes the neutral-toned space an interesting breakfast stop for those of us who’d rather have a drink than something solid at 9 am in the morning.

Oh, and for the Instagrammers in us, the Bohemian aesthetic of the place is sure to get you some stunning shots.

Where is Brunch & Cake located?

Timings: Sun-Wed: 8 am - 10 pm | Thurs-Sat: 8 am - 11 pm
Location: Wasl 51, Dubai
Approx cost for two (breakfast): 200 - 250 AED

For more information and to make reservations, visit Brunch & Cake.

Danish pastries, croissants, loaves of bread, and buns are freshly baked in the open-plan bakeshop that values transparency over all, including their customers in the process behind the scenes.

The bakery doesn’t miss out on its chance to provide you with a quick aesthetic-looking fix of caffeine with its options in beverages.

Aside from the delectable dishes you can enjoy at the eatery against a classic Scandinavian backdrop, the joint with its clean interiors and minimalistic pieces, also offers diners the chance to take home some of their favourite treats like the Matcha butter.

Other dishes on their menu include a Pancetta sandwich with Yuzu butter, Miso Benedicts and Smoked Salmon & Avocado salad with Ponzo dressing.

For the drinks, the joint doesn't wander too far from our comfort zones with its classic milkshakes, smoothies, and coffees. However, you’re sure to find a steaming hot cup of well-made Matcha latte and a Japanese green Sencha on the menu.

Catch a soothing breakfast and a slow start to your day, or unwind at Nette with its eclectic lo-fi music and natural and inspiring artistic furniture.
