Emirates Digestive Diseases Week (EDDW) 2026 opened in Dubai on 12 June, bringing together more than 600 healthcare professionals from 14 countries for a two-day conference focused on advancing digestive healthcare, gastroenterology, and multidisciplinary clinical collaboration.

The event was inaugurated at InterContinental Dubai Festival City by Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, alongside senior officials who toured an exhibition showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in digestive healthcare.

The conference features more than 65 speakers, 30 participating companies, four scientific sessions, and three specialised workshops covering areas including gastroenterology, hepatology, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and the management of inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

A standout feature of this year's edition is the Live Endoscopy initiative, in which advanced procedures will be broadcast live from Italy under the leadership of Dr. Alessandro Repici. Organisers described it as a first-of-its-kind experience for the region.

Dr. Ali Al Fazari, Chairman of EDDW 2026, said the conference is dedicated to advancing digestive healthcare through evidence-based medical education and strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration to support improved patient outcomes globally.

Dr. Mazin Al Jabiri, CEO of EDDW 2026, highlighted that the rapid evolution of gastroenterology demands stronger integration among medical specialties and expanded scientific exchange to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.

Participants are eligible to receive 14 Continuing Professional Development credits accredited by the Dubai Health Authority. The event is organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions and supported by the World Endoscopy Organisation and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, among other international bodies.

EDDW 2026 concludes on 13 June with additional sessions, workshops, and clinical discussions.
