In the city of gold-plated food, is it any surprise that luxury finds its home in another location in Dubai? Giving luxury another place to call home, resort, retreat and escape for the lost and looking, Madinat Jumeirah offers much more than what you’d expect at first glance of your basic resort.

Where did it all begin?

Now one of the most iconic landmarks in the region and the biggest of its kind in the Emirate, the roots of Madinat Jumeirah can be traced back to the early 2000s when Dubai was but a budding city.

The resort, now home to multiple hotels, entertainment destinations, restaurants and more, began construction in 2002 and was launched in 2004.

The souq also has opportunities for guests to browse the work of local artists. The work of female artists Amalie Beljafla and Amrita Sethi has been displayed in the form of murals that are handpainted.

Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) Experience

Frequented by artists, art connoisseurs and storytellers, the location brings the artistic expressions of artists from the past to life. Using state-of-the-art technology, the theatre takes guests for an immersive ride through the collections of nine chosen artists, namely Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Wassily Kandinsky and more.

The experience is spread out over 1800 sqm to help guests make the most of the experience and is relayed through multiple forms such as music, visual effects, sounds, and more. The immersive installations also use the latest virtual reality technology to bring the traditional and classical exhibited art to life.
