The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre has opened registration for its 2026 Career Camp, giving Emirati high school students a hands-on look at the space sector and the professional fields that support it.
The camp targets students in grades 10, 11 and 12 and will run from August 10 to 21 at MBRSC's facility. It forms part of a wider push by the Centre to expose young Emiratis to STEM disciplines alongside the corporate functions that keep national space missions running.
Participants will spend the two weeks moving through MBRSC's various departments, gaining direct exposure to the teams and projects behind the UAE's space programme. Organisers say the goal is to help students understand not just the science and engineering side of space work but also the organisational structure that supports it, from mission planning to operations.
The initiative reflects MBRSC's continued focus on nurturing homegrown talent for the country's space ambitions. By introducing students early to the range of career paths available, from technical roles to administrative and strategic ones, the Centre hopes to build a pipeline of future professionals equipped to contribute to the sector's growth.
This approach aligns with the UAE's broader national strategy of positioning space as a pillar of economic diversification and scientific advancement. Programmes like Career Camp are designed to ensure that as the sector expands, Emirati youth are prepared to take on meaningful roles within it rather than watching from the sidelines.
Students interested in taking part can apply by sending their CV to careercamp@mbrsc.ae. The deadline for applications is July 25, 2026.
With space emerging as a key area of national investment, initiatives like this one offer a direct route for young Emiratis to engage with the industry shaping the country's future.
