All schools, colleges, and daycares in Dubai are being asked to keep offering remote learning for students who are having trouble getting to school due to the recent bad weather. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai advised schools to be careful as they get ready to reopen. The heavy rain last week caused a lot of problems in many parts of Dubai, with some areas still flooded and transportation services like buses and the metro facing disruptions.

Starting April 16, schools and other educational institutions in Dubai shifted to remote learning. This decision came after Dubai's Crown Prince announced that all private schools, nurseries, and universities in the emirate would offer distance learning. As a result, most schools did not hold in-person classes on Thursday and Friday. The heavy rain experienced across the UAE caused widespread disruptions, bringing life to a standstill. Some schools in Dubai have informed parents about reopening for on-site classes starting Monday. However, they have also assured flexibility for students who may face difficulty in reaching school by continuing to offer them distance learning options.

"Tomorrow, learning materials that match what's taught in class will be available on our online platforms. However, teachers won't be live online like last week. Students who access these materials online will still be marked present for the day,"

stated a notification from a school.

Support staff in Dubai schools have been working tirelessly, some even staying overnight, to get the campuses ready for students' return. Housekeeping staff have been addressing waterlogging, fixing leaks, and repairing electrical supplies to ensure schools are prepared to welcome students.
