Dubai will host a landmark global gathering in 2026, bringing together leading figures from academia, technology, business, philosophy, art, and science to chart the next 70 years of artificial intelligence development, announced H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The event, titled AI@70: Towards a Global Humanity, will take place during Dubai AI Week 2026. It coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Dartmouth Workshop, the historic meeting that founded AI as a scientific field. Dartmouth College, the original host of the 1956 workshop, will officially support the event.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai is committed to global cooperation and knowledge sharing to harness AI for societal advancement. He described AI as the transformative force of the era, capable of reshaping humanity's future.
Following the conference, Dubai will launch the Humanity Lab, an eight-week incubator hosted at the Dubai International Financial Centre’s AI Campus. The initiative will merge art, philosophy, and technology to create a new generation of AI-driven products reflecting AI’s profound impact on humanity.
Organized by the DIFC in collaboration with global advisory firm APCO, AI@70 will gather international experts to build a radical research agenda, matching technological progress with philosophical innovation. The event aims to generate new paradigms and inspire future entrepreneurs, artists, and thinkers to explore uncharted possibilities for AI and society.
