The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) has celebrated its fourth anniversary, recording more than 2.5 million visitors since opening and establishing itself as one of the region's foremost cultural and knowledge institutions.

Since its inauguration, the Dubai-based library has surpassed 41,000 members across various categories and facilitated over 53,000 book loans. It has also hosted nearly 11,000 diplomatic, institutional and school delegation visits, reflecting steady and broad public engagement.

The library's collection spans more than 1.3 billion digital knowledge resources in over 90 languages, alongside approximately 760,000 printed materials. Nine specialised libraries and an Information Centre serve readers, researchers, students and knowledge seekers across all age groups.

Dr Mohammed Salem Al Mazrooei, Board Member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, described the anniversary as a defining milestone.

"The Library has strengthened its role as a leading cultural and knowledge institution and a dynamic platform that brings together knowledge, innovation, creativity and community engagement,"

he said.

Among its most notable initiatives, MBRL launched "A World Reads", which has reached more than half a million people, and "A World in Your Language", which uses artificial intelligence to deliver translated content across 12 languages. The Knowledge Horizons initiative has connected over 8,600 students from Dubai's public and private schools to leading digital knowledge databases.

The library has also made significant contributions to cultural preservation through the Dubai Archive initiative and the restoration of approximately 150 manuscripts at its dedicated Restoration Centre.

Over four years, MBRL has organised more than 750 cultural, literary and knowledge events and has earned several international awards, including recognition for excellence in the use of artificial intelligence.

Looking ahead, the library plans to expand its publishing and translation programmes while deepening international partnerships and advancing digital content offerings.
