The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has unveiled plans to host the inaugural Dubai International Library Conference 2024, set to be a cornerstone event in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Scheduled from November 15-17, 2024, the conference themed "Our Libraries, Past, Present and Future" will convene over 60 speakers and representatives from more than 25 countries.
The Supreme Committee of the Dubai International Library Conference 2024 includes 3 members of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, namely: Isobel Abulhoul, Ibrahim Al Hashmi, and Jamal Al Shehhi.
Isobel Abulhoul, a key organizer, highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing its role in addressing global library challenges amidst the digital age. She stressed the conference’s aim to foster international partnerships and advance library practices worldwide.
Ibrahim Al Hashmi echoed these sentiments, underscoring the conference’s focus on libraries as cultural hubs fostering global understanding and innovation.
Jamal Al Shehhi emphasized the event's role in showcasing cutting-edge technologies and strategies vital for modern libraries.
The conference promises over 45 panels, workshops, and interactive sessions covering diverse topics such as archival preservation, AI, and sustainable library practices. It aims to celebrate libraries as architectural marvels and repositories of global heritage.
