VOX Cinemas has teamed up with Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to bring homegrown Emirati cuisine to the cinema experience, launching a limited-time menu that puts local culinary talent centre stage.
The collaboration, called Emirati Chefs x VOX, went live on 29 July at THEATRE by VOX Cinemas. Guests can now order three dishes crafted by rising Emirati chefs, blending traditional flavours with a premium dining setting usually reserved for fine restaurants.
The menu includes a Date and Chami Cheese Salad and slow-cooked Beef Short Ribs, both created by twin chefs Abdulrahman and Maitha Al Hashmi, who are recognised as the youngest qualified Emirati chefs in the country and the wider region. Rounding out the offering is an Emirati Sticky Date Pudding by pastry chef Ahmad Al Fardan, who trained in Dubai and Switzerland before building his reputation locally.
Beyond the food itself, the initiative is designed to give Emirati culinary entrepreneurs exposure to a wide audience while they enjoy the latest film releases. It also ties into Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which aims to strengthen the emirate's creative and business sectors by supporting local talent.
VOX Cinemas marked the launch with a Chef's Table preview on 28 July at Mall of the Emirates, held alongside the premiere of Spider-Man: A Brand New Day. The event drew media, food creators and industry figures for an early taste of the new dishes.
The menu is available for a limited period at THEATRE locations across Dubai, including Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, Nakheel Mall and Wafi Mall, as well as in Abu Dhabi at The Galleria Al Maryah Island and Yas Mall. More details are available at voxcinemas.com.
