DP World has added 700 trucks to its regional fleet in a move set to strengthen road freight connectivity across the GCC and give customers greater reliability when moving cargo throughout the region.
The investment forms part of the company's broader strategy to build an integrated logistics network linking ports, terminals, economic zones and digital platforms, offering customers end-to-end supply chain solutions.
Ahmad Yousef Al-Hassan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, described the move as a long-term commitment to the company's multimodal network and the customers who trade across the region. He said the expansion reflects growing regional demand and DP World's push to scale capabilities that customers can depend on at every stage of their supply chain.
The new fleet will support up to 35,000 truck trips a month, covering both domestic and cross-border trucking needs. It will handle first, middle and last mile logistics and support the movement of containerised and non-containerised cargo alike.
Raveen Guliani, COO of Logistics at DP World GCC, noted that customers are increasingly seeking certainty, reliability and more sustainable supply chain options. He added that the new trucks are fuel-efficient and meet Euro V emissions standards, with green-energy vehicles under exploration for future deployment.
The trucks are being rolled out progressively and will complement DP World's existing fleet, which already handles around 3,000 truck movements daily across the region.
The expansion follows a series of recent infrastructure developments, including fast-track bonded corridors linking east coast gateways to Jebel Ali Port, a new bonded corridor from Sohar in Oman, and expanded Red Sea routing through Jeddah Islamic Port. These initiatives have already redirected more than 350,000 TEUs overland following recent maritime disruptions.
