Emirates has wrapped up a stronger than expected summer, carrying more than 8.6 million passengers between July and August while entering the winter season with booking momentum spreading across new and established markets.
The airline is now operating at around 93 percent of its pre-disruption capacity, with load factors holding well above 75 percent across West Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Africa. Routes to Indonesia, Cote d'Ivoire and the UK stood out for particularly strong performance, while demand for Premium Economy climbed across the network, led by the Americas.
Winter bookings, which begin in late October, are already tracking ahead of last year in markets including South Africa, Brazil, India, Portugal, Egypt, Ghana, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Nepal, the latter through Emirates' partnership with flydubai. Dubai itself remained a magnet for inbound travel, welcoming more than half a million Emirates passengers in late August alone, a 7 percent rise on last year, driven by returning residents, new arrivals and holidaymakers.
Behind the growth sits a heavy investment push. Emirates has taken delivery of 18 aircraft since January, including 11 A350s and seven 777 freighters, with six more A350s due before year end. Its retrofit programme has now upgraded 104 aircraft, bringing Premium Economy and the airline's newest cabins to 137 jets, a figure set to reach 155 by December.
The airline is also expanding its route map, with Helsinki launching on 1 October and second daily flights added to Accra, Tokyo Narita, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. New A350 deployments are planned for Larnaca, Malta, Nairobi, Hamburg and Mauritius, alongside retrofitted 777s heading to Stockholm and Frankfurt.
Together with 168 partner airlines and its flydubai tie-up, Emirates now connects customers to more than 1,750 additional cities worldwide.
