The World Police Summit 2025 kicked off at the Dubai World Trade Centre, drawing law enforcement leaders from over 100 countries to discuss the future of policing in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
Running until 15 May under the theme “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing,” the summit focuses on artificial intelligence in law enforcement, transnational crime, and greater collaboration between public and private security sectors.
Day one featured high-level sessions on organised crime, anti-money laundering, post-digital transformation, and borderless policing. More than 300 international experts participated in panels, workshops, and strategic discussions.
The opening plenary brought together officials from INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the New York Police Department, and other major institutions. Speakers addressed the growing complexity of global threats, the use of digital investigation tools, and the importance of balancing national security with cross-border cooperation.
Dr Hatem Ali of the UNODC for the GCC warned of criminal networks rapidly adopting AI and called for adaptable legal frameworks and improved institutional capabilities to counter global threats.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri, Secretary-General of the Summit, emphasized the need to rethink policing for a changing world. He noted the summit’s expanded focus on cybercrime, aviation security, and youth empowerment, aiming to equip officers with forward-looking tools and mindsets.
A key panel, “Rehabilitation for the New Era of Threats,” highlighted the role of leadership, trust, and innovation in strengthening cross-border policing efforts.
Organised by Dubai Police in partnership with DXB Live, the summit is supported by global bodies including UNODC, Europol, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. An international exhibition featuring over 170 exhibitors showcases next-generation technologies aimed at enhancing global safety.
