Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Dubai Taxi Company have switched on the first phase of a major charging hub built exclusively for DTC's electric taxi fleet, marking a significant step in the emirate's push toward zero-emission transport.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat, Chairman of the DTC Group's Board of Directors, inaugurated the facility at DTC's headquarters in Muhaisnah 4. The hub houses 24 next-generation ultrafast charge points rated at 360 KW each and can charge two dozen vehicles simultaneously in around 35 minutes.
The launch stems from a long-term strategic agreement signed at WETEX 2025 between the two entities to roll out more than 200 ultrafast EV charge points across DTC's fleet. The wider rollout aims to cut downtime for drivers and support more efficient zero-emission operations across Dubai.
Al Tayer said the partnership supports the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, and reflects the emirate's efforts to build advanced charging infrastructure that lowers carbon emissions and improves air quality while accommodating rising EV adoption.
Kalbat said the collaboration, first signed during WETEX in 2025, is now bearing fruit and reinforces DTC's sustainability pillar and commitment to innovative mobility as part of its long-term growth strategy.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of DTC, described the hub as the first phase of a larger network of over 200 dedicated charging stations for the company's fleet. He said the expanding network would boost fleet efficiency and vehicle availability while meeting growing demand for reliable, zero-emission taxi services across the city.
