DP World Foundation and Expo City Dubai Foundation have joined forces in a strategic partnership to fast-track the growth of social enterprises addressing critical global challenges, with their combined efforts already reaching over 100,000 children and young people.

The collaboration brings together DP World Foundation's focus on sustainable community impact and Expo City Dubai Foundation's Global Innovators Programme, which backs entrepreneurs delivering measurable social, economic and environmental results.

The partnership launched with support for two Africa-based ventures from the programme's seventh cohort. In Senegal, Le Lionceau produces nutritious baby food made from underutilised African crops sourced from smallholder farmers across the Sahel region. Through the partnership, DP World Foundation facilitated the distribution of 10,000 sachets of fortified infant flour, providing roughly 40,000 nutrient-dense meals to children in hospitals and orphanages, bringing total beneficiaries to over 55,000.

In Tanzania, edtech firm Smartcore has expanded access to quality education through its digital platform, Kisomo, reaching more than 59,000 children to date. Over 130 schools have been onboarded, with 42 marginalised schools equipped with offline access to bridge the connectivity gap. Sixty percent of students reached are female.

The partnership is also extending to a new cohort focused on extreme heat solutions. Fuselage Innovations from India, which uses agricultural drones for heat-stress crop protection, and Nigeria's Moon Innovations, which produces modular solar-energy systems for climate-vulnerable communities, will each receive up to US$100,000 in funding alongside technical support and networking access.

The collaboration builds on ties formed during Expo 2020 Dubai and aligns with DP World's expanding presence at Expo City, where its new global headquarters is set for completion in 2027.
