The Dubai Family Business Management Programme has concluded its knowledge journey with a series of leadership engagements aimed at strengthening cooperation between family businesses and Dubai Government leaders.
Organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development (MBRCLD) in collaboration with the Dubai Centre for Family Businesses (DCFB), the programme supports Dubai’s efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships and prepare the next generation of family business leaders.
Two specialised workshops gave participants direct access to senior Dubai officials and insights into the emirate’s economic, social and urban development priorities.
The first event focused on key government strategies, including the Dubai Social Agenda 33, Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Officials highlighted opportunities for family businesses to contribute to Dubai’s future development through investment, innovation, social entrepreneurship and partnerships with government entities.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, encouraged family businesses to explore opportunities in social entrepreneurship and create sustainable social value alongside commercial growth.
Dubai Municipality Director General Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita highlighted the private sector’s longstanding contribution to Dubai’s development and the investment opportunities created by the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
Dubai Chambers President and CEO Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah emphasised the importance of strengthening the institutional capabilities of family businesses and preparing them to expand into regional and international markets.
The second event focused on developing participants’ media and communication skills. Led by Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office, it covered media interviews, key messaging, crisis communication and professional media relationships.
Participants also completed practical exercises designed to improve presentation skills, body language, confidence and their ability to respond effectively to challenging questions.
Overall, the programme aims to prepare future family business leaders to support Dubai’s economic growth while strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors.
