The 22nd Emirates Critical Care Conference (ECCC) opened at InterContinental Dubai Festival City, bringing together over 1,000 medical and nursing professionals from 49 countries to advance the future of intensive and emergency medicine.
Running from 8 to 10 May under the theme "From Evidence to Excellence: The Future of Critical Care," the conference is organised by Info Plus Events and draws participation from more than 35 scientific medical societies worldwide.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior UAE health officials, including Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Health Regulation Sector at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Younis Kazim, Acting CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at Dubai Health Authority, alongside other leading figures from the country's healthcare sector.
The event's scientific programme is one of the most comprehensive in its history, featuring 341 speakers — 156 international, 58 regional, and 127 from the UAE — across 375 lectures, 75 scientific sessions, four workshops, five training courses, and 88 research presentations.
Hussain Al Rahma, General Secretary of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care and Founding Chairperson of the ECCC, said the conference highlights the latest developments in critical care and emergency medicine, covering topics ranging from sepsis and mechanical ventilation to cardiovascular disease, organ failure and pre-hospital management of critical cases.
The ECCC is being held alongside several major international events, including the 3rd World Summit of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care and the 22nd International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society Conference, reinforcing Dubai's growing stature as a global hub for medical knowledge exchange.
A medical exhibition featuring more than 24 local and international companies showcasing critical care technologies and equipment runs concurrently with the conference.
