Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has received the highest evaluation score in the Financial Audit Authority's internal audit function assessment, marking a significant milestone in the emirate's push for world-class public sector governance.
The assessment is part of the Financial Audit Authority's broader supervisory mandate covering government entities under its oversight. It is conducted through an advanced framework aligned with internationally recognised internal auditing standards, designed to strengthen transparency, accountability and the efficient management of public funds.
The results confirmed that RTA operates comprehensive corporate governance frameworks and manages its internal audit function in line with professional methodologies that meet the highest global benchmarks, supporting its institutional objectives and reinforcing its capacity to manage risk and sustain performance.
Faisal Kazim, Director of the Consulting and Business Excellence Department at the Financial Audit Authority, said the top score reflects an advanced model of institutional integration in applying oversight frameworks to international standards. He added that the achievement signals the level of maturity RTA has reached in embedding sound governance practices and strengthening internal control systems, ultimately supporting the efficient use of public resources.
Faisal Al Taheri, Director of Internal Audit at RTA, described the evaluation as a meaningful milestone in the authority's ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance framework. He noted that the result reflects RTA's commitment to global best practices in internal audit, risk management and compliance, all in service of the authority's broader strategic goals.
