Emirates SkyCargo is ramping up its freighter operations across East and Southeast Asia, adding flights and new routes to meet rising demand for air cargo connectivity between the region's manufacturing centres and markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
The carrier transported over 439,000 tonnes of cargo from 12 markets in the region during FY2025/26, a 5 percent increase year-on-year. The expansion spans several key trade hubs, with capacity increases targeting high-growth corridors in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said the region's role as a global manufacturing and e-commerce powerhouse was driving the push.
"By deploying additional freighter flights and expanding our freighter footprint in response to customer demand, we are providing the rapid connectivity that enables exporters to move cargo quickly and safely to customers worldwide,"
he said.
Among the notable additions, Emirates SkyCargo is doubling weekly freighter flights to Tokyo's Narita Airport to support Japan's automotive, electronics and pharmaceutical sectors. Taipei also sees a doubling of weekly services to meet growing demand for high-tech electronics shipments. In Hong Kong, operations have grown to 37 weekly freighter flights, while Zhengzhou now receives three weekly flights connecting Henan Province's industrial base with Dubai. Freighter services from Singapore have resumed with a weekly Dubai flight via Mumbai, and Vietnam's Hanoi continues to be served by four weekly flights.
Alongside its dedicated freighter network, the carrier offers cargo capacity on over 320 weekly passenger flights across the region, with specialist products covering pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-value electronics and clinical trial materials.
Emirates SkyCargo is currently exhibiting at Air Cargo China 2026 in Shanghai, running from 24 to 26 June.
