Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), announced its participation at the GITEX Future Stars 2021, the biggest tech-focused start-up event in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. During its participation, DSOA will launch a first-of-its-kind program aimed at supporting technology entrepreneurs and early-stage start-ups.

Set to run from October 17 to 20, 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, DSOA’s participation through its wholly owned Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (Dtec), the largest tech coworking space in the region, is a tribute to the entrepreneurship mindset of establishing start-ups and transforming innovative concepts into reality. This is especially true amidst the significant shifts in work culture worldwide and the rise of new economic sectors in the post-COVID era.

DSOA will welcome GITEX 2021 visitors at stand no. Z6-515 in Za’abeel Hall 06, where it will highlight Dtec’s benefits and introduce the 1,000+ start-ups from 75 countries based at the hub.

Through its presence, DSOA will also offer eight Dtec-based start-ups the opportunity to showcase their technologies and solutions, as well as share their success stories. In addition, in line with the Dubai Strategy for Free University Zones, which focuses on the sixth principle of the 50-Year Charter to establish integrated economic and creative zones in public and private universities, the DSO-based Rochester Institute of Technology – Dubai will showcase a prototype model developed by one of its students to support training people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and help them concentrate better.

Speaking on the new program that is scheduled to be announced, Hans Christensen, Vice President of Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus, said:

“Through Dtec, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority aims to connect investors with innovators and pioneers who possess ground-breaking ideas and concepts, to spread the culture of investing in technology start-ups and supporting young entrepreneurs. In line with that objective, we will announce a one-of-a-kind program at GITEX 2021 that will support early-stage technology entrepreneurs and start-ups – providing a global platform to reach the largest group of ambitious and promising thinkers.”

“The significant shifts witnessed in work culture worldwide during the coronavirus pandemic is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to enter promising new sectors in technology and digital solutions. These sectors served as a successful alternative to traditional business, guaranteeing the uninterrupted continuation of education and business.”

Commenting on the university’s participation, Dr. Slim Saidi, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at RIT Dubai, said:

“Through extensive interdisciplinary collaborations, the Neuro-engineering Laboratory aims at leveraging advances of Research in neurosciences, robotics, computer, Cognitive sciences, and Engineering to advance our understanding of how brains operate and develop applications to support Human Capabilities Augmentations through Human Machine Integration.”

Dtec offers GITEX 2021 visitors a series of comprehensive solutions for entrepreneurs across technology and digital sectors, which will support them in establishing start-ups and small- and medium-sized enterprises. It will also give one of the new applicants looking to register their startups at Dtec during GITEX Week a free-of-charge company setup and flexi-desk for one year.
