In celebration of the UAE's 53rd Eid Al Etihad, Lulu Retail unveiled the "Al Emarat Awwal" (UAE First) initiative at Lulu Hypermarket in Forsan Central Mall, Abu Dhabi.
The program aims to boost visibility and demand for locally sourced agricultural products and manufactured goods within the UAE and beyond.
The launch event was graced by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, alongside prominent officials including Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu, Dr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, Under Secretary, and Salmeen Al Ameiri, CEO of SILAL.
Dr. Amna Al Dahak lauded the initiative for its role in supporting UAE farmers and strengthening local supply chains, aligning with the nation’s food security objectives.
“Such initiatives are critical for expanding the market for UAE’s homegrown products and ensuring sustainability,”
she stated.
Yusuffali M.A. highlighted Lulu’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and contributing to the UAE's economic development.
“The ‘Al Emarat Awwal’ initiative underlines our dedication to supporting local farmers and driving long-term benefits for the UAE’s economy and people,”
he remarked.
As part of the event, six distinguished UAE farmers were honored for their contributions to sustainability and innovation in agriculture. Additionally, Lulu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SILAL to strengthen partnerships in the agricultural sector and provide farmers greater access to retail markets.
The launch underscores Lulu’s dedication to fostering local economic growth and empowering UAE farmers while contributing to the nation’s sustainability goals.
