The UAE Ministry of Interior has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with its Qatari counterpart to protect data and information linked to shared security initiatives, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation between the two Gulf states.
The agreement was formalised during an official visit by a UAE delegation to Qatar, headed by Major General Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior. He was received by Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab Al-Kaabi, Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Interior.
The MoU spans six joint projects, covering network linkage, a bilateral electronic system for traffic violations, the connection of traffic systems, the transfer and recovery of financial amounts related to traffic violations, and the electronic exchange of data and fingerprints of deportees and unidentified fingerprints.
The agreement is part of broader efforts to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on improving the exchange of security information and expertise while advancing the use of technology in support of regional stability.
It also seeks to develop the existing framework for joint security collaboration and deepen the integration of security services on both sides.
