Emirates will increase its flights between Dubai and Accra to 11 per week starting 12 July 2026, adding four new weekly services to complement its existing daily operation on the route.

The expansion comes on the back of sustained demand for air travel to and from Ghana's capital, which the airline says continues to record high seat occupancy throughout the year. All flights will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER.

The new flights, designated EK789/EK790, are timed to connect Accra travellers onward to major commercial and tourism destinations including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK and Jeddah. In the other direction, the additional service opens a more convenient routing into Accra via Dubai for travellers originating from Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles and key gateways across Germany and the United Kingdom.

Salem Almana, Emirates' Country Manager for Ghana, said the move reflects the airline's confidence in the Ghanaian market.

"This expansion will strengthen business, tourism and trade links between Ghana and key markets across our global network, while contributing to the continued growth of Ghana's aviation sector,"

he said. Through Dubai, passengers will have access to close to 140 destinations worldwide.

Beyond passenger travel, the additional flights will support freight movements through Emirates SkyCargo, boosting cargo capacity between Accra and Dubai and onward across the airline's global network.

The announcement reinforces Emirates' broader strategy of deepening connectivity across Africa as demand for international air travel on the continent continues to grow.
