The UAE is accelerating its shift toward AI-powered governance, with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewing progress on an ambitious framework that aims to transform 50% of federal government sectors and services using Agentic AI within two years.
The review, held in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, was briefed by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, alongside Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Sultan Al Olama and other senior officials.
At the heart of the initiative is a new Agentic AI system designed to autonomously execute tasks and support decision-making across government operations — moving beyond traditional digital tools toward systems capable of independent action. The project will also leverage integrated federal data and advanced digital infrastructure to streamline procedures, speed up service delivery, and improve decision-making accuracy.
Sheikh Mohammed described AI integration as a strategic priority for the next phase of the country's development.
"Our government has chosen to lead the shift towards integrating AI into its daily work — a government that operates and serves people around the clock,"
he said, adding that national teams driving this transformation are central to the UAE's continued success.
The project is being implemented under the supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. It also prioritises building national AI capabilities and enabling more proactive, people-centred public services.
The UAE's move positions it among the first governments globally to adopt agentic AI at scale, reinforcing its standing as a leader in next-generation governance models.
