Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed major traffic enhancements along Street 34 in Al Barsha South 1, significantly cutting travel time and improving road safety.
The upgrades, driven by community feedback, are part of RTA’s wider plan to modernise infrastructure in residential areas and support the city’s urban development.
Four new entry and exit points have been introduced along Street 34, reducing travel time in and out of the neighbourhood from five minutes to under one. Continuous sidewalks and 158 new parking spaces were also added to streamline vehicle movement, reduce random parking, and improve overall traffic flow.
A new U-turn at the junction of Street 34 and Al Hadaeq Street further boosts connectivity, offering residents quicker, more direct access while easing congestion at busy intersections.
In a move to improve pedestrian safety, RTA also constructed seven crossings across internal roads, aimed at reducing conflict points between vehicles and pedestrians in this high-density residential zone.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said the enhancements reflect the authority’s commitment to delivering safe, efficient mobility solutions in line with Dubai’s vision for a sustainable and livable city.
He added that RTA remains focused on engaging with residents, addressing traffic challenges, and ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with community needs and urban growth.
