About Smash Room Dubai
A Smash Room is an innovative concept that allows people to literally smash, break, and destroy anything they like, from old furniture and appliances to glass and electronics, in a safe and controlled environment. It is a physical release of negative emotions and stress, designed to help people destress and feel more relaxed.
The Smash Room Dubai is the result of the combined efforts of two friends, Hiba Balfqih and Ibrahim Abudyak. Hiba herself had experienced a lot of anger and resentment when her grandmother passed away and none of the conventional coping mechanisms were working, so she took some old junk outside and smashed it to pieces, which gave her a huge sense of relief. As a result, she considered developing a platform so that others could manage stress in the same way, as opposed to engaging in self-harming activities. She discussed the idea with Ibrahim, her best friend and partner in crime, and they both agreed to make it a reality. Thus, The Smash Room opened in Dubai in March 2018, allowing adults to throw a tantrum.
What to expect?
Old appliances, murals, and graffiti walls greet you as soon as you enter the Smash room. As soon as you move forward, you will come across an old flat-screen TV, a sledgehammer, and a cricket bat lined up against the wall in one of the four rooms. To smash things around you in a secure and controlled environment, you are provided with safety gear, gloves, and face guards. You can break anything you can get your hands on because everything in here is disposable. Take a phone, crush it, a barrel, throw it away, a bat, and show that lamp who's in charge. Throw a plate, smash a laptop, smash that refrigerator with a sledgehammer. Additionally, you can smash a broken couch, coffee table, radio, broken refrigerator, and DVD player. While you continue to smash things around, don't forget to play your favorite music loudly.
What happens to the things that you break apart?
Glass, barrels, and plasterboards are among the numerous broken, damaged, and unusable items that have been brought from the factory for your destruction. Things to keep in mind while visiting
You should pay attention to the following while visiting the Smash Room:
• Don't forget to bring your ID card.
• To smash, fill out and sign the waiver form. You could also sign it ahead of time.
• You must be at least 16 years old. Smashing activities are not permitted for anyone under the legal age limit.
• Put on shoes with closed toes before entering the wreck room.
• A stay in the crash room shouldn't last longer than 30 minutes.
• Make reservations well in advance to avoid waiting.
