The UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, marking a significant step in bolstering international cooperation against corruption.

The agreement was formalized during an official visit to the UAEAA headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Humaid Obaid Abushibs, Chairman of the UAEAA, welcomed the ICAC delegation led by Danny Woo. The visit included a tour of UAEAA’s training facilities and an overview of the authority’s initiatives in governance and transparency.

The MoU establishes a collaborative framework for both organizations to leverage their expertise and resources. The partnership will facilitate joint initiatives such as training programs, conferences, and seminars aimed at enhancing anti-corruption efforts. Discussions also centered on exchanging knowledge in safeguarding integrity, combating transnational corruption, and promoting the sustainability of public resources.

This collaboration highlights the UAEAA’s dedication to aligning with global regulatory bodies and adopting best practices in combating corruption.
