The Dubai Media Council has opened applications for the Mohammed bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students for the 2026–2027 academic year, offering outstanding graduates a fully funded undergraduate degree in media and communications.
Launched under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the scholarship places eligible students at the American University in Dubai's Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication, one of the region's leading institutions in the field.
The programme covers three specialised tracks: Journalism, Digital Production and Storytelling, and Game Design and Development. It targets high-achieving Emirati high school graduates with a strong passion for media and the drive to contribute to the sector's growth.

Secretary General Nehal Badri said the partnership with AUD aims to invest in young talent that will shape the future of Emirati media. Hesham Al Olama, CEO of the Media Development Sector, added that academic training is a critical foundation for developing professionals capable of crafting an effective national narrative in a rapidly evolving industry.
The scholarship is part of the Council's broader strategy to expand qualified national talent, strengthen the UAE's media presence globally and build an advanced national media ecosystem aligned with the country's future vision.
Applicants must submit grade transcripts for Years 10, 11 and 12, copies of their passport and Emirates ID, and a portfolio of creative work. TOEFL, IELTS and SAT scores are welcomed where available. UAE male nationals must also include an army exemption or completion letter.
Applications close on 30 June 2026 and can be submitted at scholarship.aud.edu.
