Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) has secured 600 new taxi license plates through an auction held by the Roads and Transport Authority, pushing its market share to 47% and cementing its position as Dubai's largest taxi operator.
The acquisition will grow DTC's fleet from 6,217 to 6,817 vehicles, with new taxis set to be introduced in phases starting July 2026. The structured rollout is designed to maintain operational efficiency and service quality while addressing rising demand for mobility across the emirate.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said the expansion reflects the company's confidence in Dubai's growing mobility sector.
"As demand for transport services rises alongside the emirate's urban development, we remain focused on scaling our operations,"
he said, adding that the move is aimed at delivering long-term value for shareholders while supporting Dubai's ambition of building a world-class mobility ecosystem.
The phased vehicle introduction, Alfalasi noted, is part of a broader strategy to optimise asset utilisation and strengthen financial performance without compromising service standards.
The development aligns with the Government of Dubai's vision for a smart, integrated transport network and supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which positions the emirate as a global leader in urban services.
