flydubai is set to resume flights to Aleppo, marking the airline's return to northern Syria after nearly 14 years and expanding its footprint in the country to two destinations.
The Dubai-based carrier will begin daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport on July 20, 2026. The new route makes Aleppo the airline's second Syrian destination, joining Damascus, which flydubai resumed serving last summer.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, described the launch as a significant step in the airline's broader network strategy. He said the move reflects flydubai's long standing mandate to connect Dubai with underserved markets and noted that the daily flights would meet strong existing demand while strengthening economic, cultural and family ties between the UAE and Syria.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said the decision builds on the momentum seen since flights to Damascus resumed. He pointed to sustained passenger demand on that route as a key factor behind the expansion and said the timing of the Aleppo launch aligns well with the peak summer travel season, when interest in flights to Syria typically rises.
The resumption comes as flydubai continues to grow its presence across the region, positioning Dubai as a connecting hub for travelers moving between the UAE and Syria. With daily service now available to both Damascus and Aleppo, the airline aims to offer greater flexibility for passengers seeking direct access to the country.
flydubai has not detailed further Syrian destinations under consideration, but the Aleppo launch signals continued confidence in the market's recovery and growing travel demand between the two nations.
