The UAE Ministry of Finance has listed AED1.1 billion in additional dirham-denominated Islamic Treasury Sukuk on Nasdaq Dubai, reinforcing the country's ambition to build a deeper, more diversified fixed-income market.

The listing was marked by a bell-ringing ceremony attended by Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, alongside senior officials from the Ministry and Nasdaq Dubai, including the exchange's Chairman Abdul Wahed Al Fahim and CEO Hamed Ali.

The new issuances are tap additions to two existing series under the UAE Federal Government's Islamic Treasury Sukuk Programme. A AED550 million tap was added to the 3.49% Sukuk due October 2027, bringing its total outstanding to AED2.2 billion, while a further AED550 million was added to the 3.779% Sukuk due February 2033, raising that series to AED1.1 billion.

Al Hussaini said the listing reflects the ministry's commitment to developing local currency government debt instruments, enhancing the dirham yield curve and broadening the investor base. He added that the increased issuances signal the UAE's strong credit standing and the confidence global markets place in its financial system.

With these additions, the total value of UAE Federal Government Sukuk listed on Nasdaq Dubai has reached US$7.5 billion. The exchange's overall Sukuk listings now stand at US$99.4 billion, cementing its position as one of the world's leading Islamic finance hubs.

The programme continues to expand access to Sharia-compliant investment instruments for regional and international investors, while supporting the development of a sustainable and advanced domestic financial system.
