The Federal Youth Authority (FYA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai's Erada Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation, formalising a partnership aimed at supporting young people recovering from addiction and accelerating their reintegration into society.
The agreement was signed by FYA Director Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi and Erada Centre CEO Abdulrazaq Ameri in the presence of officials from both organisations.
Under the MoU, both parties will develop joint programmes offering volunteering, training, and community participation opportunities for Erada Centre beneficiaries. The partnership also calls for the establishment of an Erada Centre Youth Council to give young people a voice in shaping the Centre's services and work environment.
Al Nuaimi said the collaboration reflects the UAE's commitment to building cross-sector partnerships and developing solutions that are both comprehensive and sustainable. He noted the initiative aligns directly with the National Youth Agenda 2031, particularly its Quality of Life pillar, which prioritises youth wellbeing and active social participation.
Ameri echoed that position, emphasising that recovery extends well beyond clinical treatment. He described the partnership as an opportunity to build meaningful pathways that allow individuals to develop skills, pursue ambitions, and contribute to the broader community.
Both organisations have also committed to running joint training programmes, workshops, and awareness campaigns focused on mental health and addiction prevention, with coordinated messaging across digital and media platforms.
The agreement positions recovery as a gateway to participation rather than an endpoint, reflecting a broader national push to invest in the potential of young people at every stage of their journey.
