The UAE has launched the "UAE Skills Platform," a national initiative connecting educational outcomes directly to labour market needs through artificial intelligence, marking a significant step in the country's human capital development strategy.
Developed jointly by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the platform was introduced under the directives of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council. It reflects a broader national push to align academic pathways with the demands of priority economic sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan underscored that human development remains central to the country's growth agenda, stressing the importance of synchronising skills development with national investments in key industries.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education, described the platform as a strategic move toward reducing the gap between education outputs and economic sector requirements, while empowering institutions to develop programmes better aligned with future needs.
Among the first of its kind in the region, the platform uses AI to analyse jobs, skills and qualifications, and forecast labour market shifts. It delivers actionable insights on in-demand skills, emerging specialisations and priority sectors, enabling data-driven decisions by institutions, employers and policymakers alike.
The platform serves over 200,000 students and around 200 educational institutions across the UAE, with capabilities to map more than 1,700 future skills. It offers tailored interfaces for students, parents, educators, employers and job seekers, supporting everything from career exploration to lifelong learning.
