Dubai International Airport (DXB) welcomed 23.4 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025, marking its busiest Q1 to date and reinforcing its title as the world’s leading international airport.
Passenger traffic rose 1.5% year-on-year, despite Q1 2024 already setting a high benchmark. January alone recorded 8.5 million travellers—the highest monthly total in DXB’s history—driven by seasonal peaks, spring break, and Eid holidays. The UAE's strategic location and DXB’s seamless operations continue to attract global travellers in record numbers.
India remained DXB’s top destination, with 3 million guests, followed by Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Pakistan. London led at the city level, with nearly a million travellers. Leisure travel surged as well, with sharp increases in traffic to destinations like the Czech Republic, Vietnam, and Spain.
The airport also recorded 111,000 flight movements, a 1.9% increase, while maintaining high efficiency across operations. Over 21 million bags were handled with a 99.8% success rate, and more than 95% of passengers experienced minimal wait times thanks to biometric systems and real-time monitoring.

Beyond the numbers, stories of exceptional service stood out—such as the swift return of a lost bag containing AED 102,000 and the compassionate actions of an immigration officer, praised by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for embodying Dubai’s spirit of hospitality.
CEO Paul Griffiths credited the performance to the "oneDXB" community—a coordinated network of airport staff, partners, and service teams.
“Delivering the busiest month in our history while maintaining world-class service is a remarkable achievement,”
he said.
Recognised with the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award and named the world’s busiest international airport for the 11th year running, DXB continues to raise the bar for global aviation.
