Dubai’s tourism sector continues its upward trajectory, recording a surge in international arrivals and visitor spending, with tourists from Russia and Gulf nations topping the list in expenditure.
In 2024, Dubai welcomed around 18.73 million international visitors, marking a 9% year-on-year increase, according to Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The momentum carried into 2025, with a 3% rise in arrivals during the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
Kazim made the announcement at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, attributing the city's strong performance to focused efforts on enhancing the visitor experience and tapping into a broader range of global markets.
He said the city is not only looking to attract more tourists but is also prioritizing service quality and repeat visits. Dubai’s tourism strategy includes tailored promotional campaigns targeting specific groups during peak and off-peak periods, such as families during school holidays.
Kazim also pointed to the positive influence of regional tourism trends and emphasized the role of dedicated committees working to open up new source markets.
With Russian and Gulf tourists leading in spending, followed closely by select European markets, Dubai is reinforcing its position as a top global destination through strategic planning and a sharp focus on visitor satisfaction.
