The UAE Food Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Community Contributions Establishment JOOD, formalising a strategic alliance aimed at expanding food aid reach and embedding a stronger culture of giving across Dubai.
The agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials including Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
At the heart of the partnership is JOOD's digital platform, which will serve as a channel for individuals and organisations to contribute financially to the UAE Food Bank's programmes and campaigns throughout the year. Periodic reporting mechanisms will be built into the framework to measure impact and uphold transparency standards.
Both entities will also collaborate on joint awareness initiatives focused on reducing food waste and promoting responsible consumption, reinforcing community values around sustainable social impact.
Marwan Rashid bin Hashim, CEO of JOOD, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to redirecting surplus food to those most in need while making it easier for the public to contribute through trusted digital channels.
Manal bin Yaroof, Head of the Executive Team at the UAE Food Bank, described surplus food as a valuable resource and said the partnership would strengthen collection and redistribution mechanisms while supporting vulnerable groups through an integrated humanitarian framework.
Under the MoU, the UAE Food Bank will identify priority initiatives and direct contributions to ensure meaningful outcomes, while JOOD assumes the role of a strategic enabler coordinating community giving at scale.
The agreement reflects Dubai's broader push to align humanitarian efforts with digital innovation and governance best practices.
